Fadrique de Trastámara
Hijo natural de Enrique II de Castilla (1369-1379) y de Beatriz Ponce de León. Conde-duque de Benavente, título del que fue desposeído en 1394. Encabezó la rebelión nobiliaria contra Enrique III de Castilla el Doliente (1379-1406). El fracaso de la insurrección le obligó a huir a Navarra, donde fue protegido por su hermana Leonor, esposa de Carlos III el Noble de Navarra (1387-1425). Ello provocó un conflicto diplomático entre Castilla y Navarra, que Carlos III zanjó con la retención de Fadrique en Tafalla (Navarra) hasta su devolución a Castilla una vez que la monarquía castellana ofreciera garantías suficientes sobre su vida.
